I believe we need to slow down data centers. We need accountability to make sure:
- Local communities have total control over whether a center is built;
- No one ever pays more for electricity to subsidize a data center
- Data centers don't get special tax breaks. Max Miller voted for a tax break for data centers in the so-called Big Beautiful Bill. I would have opposed that.
And I believe we need strong protections to make sure AI does not displace workers or leave working people worse off.
